Default Add oil to transfer case through sensor or inspection port

So I have a stripped 1/4" drive hole in the fill plug on an NV246, '98 Suburban transfer case. It was somewhat rounded when I tried to open it but I still managed to twist the head off my 1/4" ratchet. I notice I have a small leak from the rear seal and I am on the road and want to just replace the rear seal and fill this thing, easy to do on the road. I can get the drain plug out but will wait to see if I can add the 2qts of Dex3 to the sensor port or the fitting that is an allen wrench and is about 2" round (I think it's an inspection or adjustment port). If so I can fix the fill plug when I get home. Does anyone know if I can add oil to either of these locations? As far as getting the fill plug out, I see plenty of methods to try when I get back home. Hopefully the leak is slow enough to let me get me back home...
