Well I was thinking when I'm home of stripping down my 03 wheels and getting them filled in and powder coated chrome/clear and then just have these painted chrome/clear. The powder coating would hold up a lot more in the winter than painted wheels.

That works, I know many ppl have 2 sets of rims up north for the seasons, but yes powder is a lot better at holding up than paint but is more expensive of course. As long as your happy with the results that's all that matters.

hey kyle, dont know if you saw these pics or not, a project i did earlier this year, you might like it. i started with some 07+ 6 spoke gmc rims that i bought for the tires(mine were getting pretty worn) and they were about like yours, didnt look bad froma distance, but up close they were stained and chewed up. the pictures(in reverse order for some reason) is what i did to them. it took some time, but it was all rattle can, no fancy paint gun. they wernt perfect, but they didnt look bad. just an idea for ya. hit me up if you have questions.

That defiantly looks sharp but I wouldn't trust myself painting them. I might have found a wheel that I like for a decent price. Moto Metel 951 steel wheel with chrome coating. Only complaint is it's zero offset. Any thoughts?

wasnt that hard really. spent most of the time taping. spray paint is fairly forgiving as long as you dont get it to think right away.

Just use a good billet aluminium polish on them and you should be good.
