I don't recall seeing this kind of poll here, yet. With my recent diff trouble, I've been thinking about differentials all week. So I thought I'd start an unscientific poll to see what gear ratios are common on GM trucks/cars. I looked at Randy's Ring and Pinion to get an idea of what gear ratios are available, and I didn't limit it to stock or OEM ratios (though I expect the aftermarket only ratios aren't going to be very common). The poll appears to be limited to 10 options, though, so I had to combine a few. So, anyway, what gear ratio is currently installed in your truck?
If you're not sure, you can check the RPO code list in the glove box and match that up against an RPO code list (which is available in many places on the internet) to see what was originally installed. If it's been regeared since it came from the factory, you'll have to count revolutions of the wheel and driveshaft, or count teeth on the R&P.

I have the 4.10's in the sierra and 3.42 in the suburban. The 4.10's are no fun on the highway and I don't get great milage. The suburban gets better gas milage but is a dog. I think I'd like something right in the middle like a 383 or 373.

3.08s here, but looking to move up to at least 3.73s when I put bigger tires on the truck. (31s or 33s, suggestions welcome)
