The Black Ice Strikes the Dodge.
Christmas Morning my dad was heading home from Lewisville, Texas to our home in Dublin, Texas in his 2007 Dodge 1500 SLT with the 4.7 V8 with my mom following him in her 2007 Chrysler Pacifica 4.0 and found a shocking surprise on the road, Black Ice.
According to my dad he was just driving on the highway with his cruise control on 48 miles MPH and topped a hill and the next thing he knew was that he could feel himself hydroplaning and the truck instantly started turning to the left into incoming traffic. He stated that he barley missed a maroon SUV and went into the bar-ditch on the opposite side of the road. He said once he hit the bar-ditch he had control of the truck again. He then saw a drop off in the bar-ditch coming up soon so he steered the truck back towards the highway and noticed a traffic sign and before he could really even react he took out the sign witch then changed the direction of the truck 180 degrees to where he was facing towards the way he was coming from and slide across the highway into the opposite bar-ditch witch also had a 10 foot drop off after the bar-ditch. His truck finally came to a stop with only his front wheels on the shoulder and his right rear tire and hitch on the bar-ditch.
My dad said that was the craziest ride in all the accidents he has been in and he has flipped two vehicles before. My mom said the only thing she saw from here car was him sliding backwards "facing her" and the truck going into the bar-ditch and nearly flipping before it came to a stop.
My dad stated that it wasn't really that rough of a ride and that the impact of hitting all the bar-ditches weren't that bad but the hardest impact was actually when the traffic sign took off his mirror after the sign had already hit the left front of the truck.
We are all just glad that he wasn't injured. He walked away without a bruise or a scratch and without the airbag deploying.
They keep saying the right person will come. I think mine is my truck.

Sounds like it was just black ice in the worst possible place. Glad he's ok and was able to regain enough control to keep from flipping or having a head-on collision with another vehicle.

I am so glad that your Dad is OK!!"He is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog. You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion." (Anon)
