How will I charge the battery from Autozone? Don't they come charged?

  2. #12

The Duralast batteries come fully charged and you want the Gold not Platinum. The Gold has an 8 year warranty and 3 year no BS replacement. The Platinum only has a 3 year warranty/free replacement.

Got my battery tested. Looks like I just need a recharge. Hope that will buy me some time before having to buy a new one.

I prefer NAPA which is actually Interstate brand. Have put one in my Travel Trailer and current truck and two past car's.

I vote for optima yellow top and duralast gold... Both are great batteries.

I've bought Optima batteries in the past, they are good but expensive. For the last 5 years I have bought the Walpmart batteries, $60.00, they last about 2 years but they give you a 3 year replacement with them. It works for what I need it for.

My 05 went 6 years and 1 month.........bought the same AC Delco battery with a 18 month free replacement warranty and it went bad at 25 months.......I replaced it with a 30 month free replacement upgrade...the case was a little different in design and fit better as the first one was loose in the tray.

I just looked up the manufacture of each set of batteries and I learned Delco, Duralast, DieHard, Optima, Interstate, Walmart, Advanced, Bosch, and most other OEM batteries are made by Johnson Controls Inc. some even in the same factory. Their main brands are Optima, LTH, Varta, and Heilair. Companies then chose which battery and technology they want and put their house brand on it. So really were all buying the same batteries just with different names and prices.

I have been using the everstart Maxx (the yellow ones) from walmart. $75 (last time I bought) they have a 5 year free and 9 year prorated warranty. My land rover will sit for a year without being started and the battery still has plenty of juice. have one in my truck and cars too.
