Just replaced fuel pump on my 'o1 silverado at christmas time. All has been well till this week, lost power, no acceleration, check engine light on with o2 sensor code. Cleared code, ran fine for two daysthen same thing all over again only now with fuel trim lean bank 1 code. Checked fuel pressure and found to be 5-7 lbs low. Changed fuel filter and found to have contaminants. Cleared codes and seemed to run and perform well till today, started getting sluggish at 1800-2000 rpm. Went back into shop checked codes and found fuel trim lean again, checked pressure and found to be slightly low, desided to bleed press gauge to be sure of no false readings and lines are full of air. COULD NOT GET FUEL LINES TO BLEED W/O LOTS OF BUBBLES!!! Anyone have any suggestions?? Please

Sounds like the pumps cavitating, possibly a bad diaghram in the fuel pump. Unfortunately the only fix is to drop the tank and replace the pump again.

Thanks for the input, thats pretty much what we were thinking as well. Iguess sometimes its not what you want to do, but what you have to do. Thanks again, Rick
