I have had an issue with my 97 suburban throttle body engine for the two years I have owned it. At first the problem only existed when the fuel level was below a 1/4 tank. The engine would die when comming to a stop. This went away after filling the tank. The problem has now esclated to an erratic idle from 400 rpm to 1100 rpm and then ultimately dies after about 1 minute of a stand still neutral idle. The problem worsens when in drive and or the A/C is on.
What the ...?
have you checked the fuel pressure? maybe a cracked line on the FMU (fuel Management unit) in the tank. there is a rubber hose in the tank and if it is cracked it will suck air whn the tank is low. mine was in poor shape when i swapped the FMU out last summer....mike
