I use a napa/wix 1522 deep filter, I've used it for going on 6 years and its the only filter i buy.01' 1500 LT Z71 ECSB 5.3L
line-x'd front brush guard with KC Daylighters, 6000k HID lows and highs, rewired highbeams, Trans-go mild shift kit, custom stainless duals, 3500 dually OEM taillights, K&N CAI. Still have OEM fender flairs and leveling kit in boxes waiting for time.

Nobody has answered the question of if you go in for engine warranty work and the service tech sees the wrong filter on the engine.
I would imagine that you hear GM not honor the warranty if the wrong filter is used.

The 1522 is what the napa book says, they cant ting you for that.

The 1522 appears to be longer than the 1040 and 1042.
Your truck in the ACDelco world takes a PF46 and the direct cross reference in the Wix catalog is the 51042 or the 1042 Napa.
Now for the 2013 Silverado 5.3L engine, the filter is a 57060 Wix or a 7060 Napa. There is no long version. Some people are stating that you can use the PF63 in place of a PF48, but there is not direct cross reference to my knowledge.
