Thread: Heater whistles

  1. #1

    Default Heater whistles

I have an 04 silverado and when I turn my heater it has a slight whistle or squeak to it. If I turn the fan up higher the whistle gets louder. Any ideas on what is causing this or a way to fix it?

It may be the blower motor (likely). Does the pitch change with blower speed change or does it just get louder like a whistle gets louder the harder you blow? If it is pitch then I would replace motor, if it just gets louder then maybe something lodged in a vent causing it.
