    Arrow Heater Hose Connector Tool

    Hi all.

    I have a 92 surburban (and a 94 C-1500), BOTH have the stupid connector at the back of the intake for the heater hose.

    I have 3 different "connector tool sets" and NONE of them do the job. (unless it's like a screwdriver or something.)

    Anyone know of a part number or cheat to get the line out of the connector ????

    Well, no need for the tool, as the connector in the intake broke with just a light touch (junk pot-metal).

    Looking at the threads on the connector, they appear to be 1/2 NPT male SO...LOL,, the crap left in the cast-alum intake, I can carefully chisel out with a mini-chisel, and use a bronze 1/2 NPT Male to 3/4 barbed fitting (Ironically from our heating supplier (Fitting made by "BII")).

    Will post an update shortly to the outcome (even photos).

    The Culprit, (Look for the somewhat Shiny hole in the background (broken part of connector in intake manifold......)

    The part that needed replacing (hose leak).

    Basic tools (And replacement parts, clamps not shown).

    Tap (1/2" NPT-14) cleaning threads after chiseling out broken part of old connector... (about an hour...)

    FIXED !!!!! (Just need to install new hose and clamps, then reassemble everything I needed to get out of the way, to get to the broken connector.

    The pipe tap was about 26 bucks (I live in Canada) the fitting and the chunk of 3/4" heater hose was 9 bucks, so all in all (NOT including my time....) I saved 38 bucks from the OEM part at GM....

    The thing I know, is this engine is going to be rebuilt in about 3 months, was it worth it ?? yes, knowing that the hose can now be serviced WITHOUT anything special, AND if needed, can be done "on the side of the road" in an emergency.........
