    Default new texan with asperations of swapping a 4.3 to a 5.3

    Way too much money into my truck to trade. Thought the v6 would he better on gas when I bought it.....ooops. lookingvto findvsomeone who knows about 4.3 to v8 swaps in nnbs silverados.

    Heh, yea, MPG diff on the 6cyl's isn't much better than the V8's. Welcome!

    Thanks. Believe it or not I think the 4.3 gets worse fuel economy than the 5.3.........

    It can be done and it isn't all that hard... relatively speaking... You would be best off to buy a wrecked one that has all of the parts you would need to do the swap. Computer, engine and all of the little parts that you aren't thinking about like motor mounts, fan shroud, and many other small details. It isn't as simple as swapping an engine.

    Welcome to the site!!

    Basically whatever you "think" it's going to cost, double it and you'll be right on the money. Being electronically savy is a huge plus, basically all the extras will make it very expensive. Good luck with your swap!

    Thanks for the info and welcomes all. Ill be sure to take pics and do a write up for the next guy that comes along with a nnbs silverado 4.3 so they wont have to guess like ill be doing on a lot of things when attempting the swap.
