LED under hood light install

I like that! It looks really good... and it's a functional mod too. I'm a bit biased though since I'm a big fan of LEDs.

I picked up a factory underhood light for my Avalanche for cheap from the junkyard a couple weeks ago, but I might just have to do an LED strip in addition to or instead of the factory one. I already have a hood pin for my remote starter and a couple of spots left in my aux. fuse panel, so it wouldn't take much to set that up.

What is the technical ability to complete this job? I have been considering something similar but running them down the bottom of the truck to act as puddle lights.

Not hard at all, if you know the difference between positive and negative wires and can install a switch no problem. With a little work you could splice them in and have your existing door switch's trigger them.
I bought two sets of red LED's and put them in the bed of my truck under my tonneau cover for cargo lights.
