How to Get Transmission to Temperature
I have been driving my 2010 Silverado around trying to get the temperature to 160 to check the fluid level. No matter what with the outside temps in the 30's, I only get to 140. Any ideas?

You probably have a towing package, which includes a transmission oil cooler. The air temp may be too cold to get the fluid any warmer.
Try to cover the front of the radiator (grill) to slow the flow of cold air.Ray

It doesn't have to be hot to check it, pull the stick when it's cold. If it shows quart overfull then it's perfect, I check mine all the time like this.
