Default 2004" Silverado Are My RPM's Correct??

Hi, I just bought a nice 2004 Silverado 2WD with 4.8L and 5-speed manual. It has stock 235 x 75 R16 tires and a 3.42 rear diff. The engine RPMs seem high to me in 5th gear as follows:

    50 mph about 2000 rpm
    60 mph about 2250 rpm
    65 mph about 2500 rpm

I've gone through the gear ratios and these numbers seem quite high to me.

Can anyone tell me if these rpms are higher than expected?

Even if the rear diff is a 4.10 these numbers seem high.

    Any suggestions?

Welcome to the club, it's good to have you here. Your RPMs do seem high but I am not sure what they should be.
