Default Mysterious wire :: What could it possibly be?

Earlier today I was taking off the plastic shield over the radiator and grill and noticed a wire/connector that wasn't plugged into anything. Well I sat around trying to think what it could have been to but was stumped. Any ideas from ya'll would be great.

Do you have a rearview mirror with an outside temp display? If not, my guess is it's for the outside air temp sensor.

There's one on my Sierra, too. It's a sensor of some kind.

My 07 silverado duramax has one, i replaced the grille the other day and noticed it. Inside the cab there's a button by the airbag shutoff key slot. Judging by the picture on it It looks to be for somekind of light but when i push it nothing happens. I think its a snow plow prep package addon and the wire goes to the grille for auxillery lights.
