Roof Rack Question

I have a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD. Of course GM stopped putting roof rack bars on trucks a while ago. I just got a Kayak, and it is 14 foot long, it doesn't fit in the box very well, I only have the 6 1/2 box. I was thinking of buying an aftermarket roof rack system, I was thinking of Rhino Rack or Yakima roof rack systems that connect to your drip line and the upper part of the door jam.

Any recommedations or suggestions, let me know.

Do you have a link and/or a photo of what you're looking for? Is this a fiberglass Kayak that you're putting up there?

My truck doesn't have anything on the roof now. (No rails, nothing, but paint). The kayak is fiberglass or plastic, only weighs 70lbs, as it is a two person one.



Not sure how good this picture is, but this "roof rack" connects to your drip edge and door somehow...

i used those for a spare tire on my jeep SUV... they broke.
theyre fine for suitcases and stuff but if your gonna carry anything serious..... get something that goes straight to metal
