Default 1999 chevy suburban 2500 4x4 having problems

Hey y'all I have been having troubles with my ride. It shifts hard and misses. I believe it's the mass air sensor. I have replaced the part twice. What could cause this part to go bad? Any help would be great.

Why do you believe the MAF is at fault here? How are you determining that MAF is bad?

If you are getting codes for the MAF, remember that codes point to problems in circuits, of which the sensor is only one part. Also, where the MAF is part of the fuel control system, sometimes other problems with fuel control can trigger an MAF code.
