98 305 5 speed, idle rpms?

i'm not 100% sure here but i think the idle rpms are getting higher. right before i bought this truck the guy that had it had the same problem, the idle rpms and gone up to 1500 slowly over time and they ended up changing all the gaskets in the motor.
well right now it idles about 900 i really thought when i got it the truck would idle closer to 500 but i might be wrong

so what do these trucks usually idle at?

i also have the same problem i have a 1996 1500 with a 305 and 5 speed mine will idle up to 2500 rpm now and then but does not do it all the time i have replaced the mass air flow sensor the idle air control valve the throttle position sensor i have also cleaned the throttle body i work for a chevy dealership and have had many techs look at it still cant figure it out if you have any luck please share
