    Default Squeak question

I have a 96k2500 454 and got a squeak in the belt area and notice I can take all the tension off the pulley by hand? Is that normal?

I would say that it is not normal to be able to pull the belt off by hand. I can take the pressure off of my belt but it takes a 3/8 ratchet and is not super easy to do. You may want to look into a new tensioner. While you have the belt off you can spin each pulley by hand, listen for squeaks and feel for "crunchyness"

with the tension off both pulleys roll fine I'm thinking its the arm it self not putting enough tension so I bought a new arm ( which came with a new pulley) an a belt

I have a noise coming from the belt area also on my 99 sub 5.7 at first it was hard to pinpoint cause it resonated
throughout the vehicle while engine running. The noise stops though if I remove my belt that I can also create enough
down force on tensioner to remove by hand.
