So I have a GMC Jimmy 2002, bought in 06 with 60k on it, now at 120k and questioning if its time to change or not. Went to a GM official dealer to get the 64 points inspection and got the following:

    (translated from french form)
    - Oil leak between motor and transmission
    - Oil leak at tale of transmission
    - Noisy rear link kit
    - Rusted back plates
    - 4X4 not working
    - upper ball joint to be checked

I know it seems like a lot of issues, but the truck runs so gooooood.
So I was debating putting the money and keeping it.
The other option is "parking" it and get a GMC Canyon 2010

    Any advice from Jimmy owners?

    thank you for anyones time

Really, take a look at the BLACK in this picture, sure its a picture but looks good to me! Let us look a the list and then the cost of the new payment/insurance(unless your rich) and can afford both or just the new one? Nice shape and the money for the listed posted is not really that much. So whats the numbers on the windows, something happen? I'll give you 1500.00 for it.....

To me those are all considered "maintenance items" (except the 4x4 issue) But, you drive a vehicle for 120,000 Kilometers (75,000 miles) you should expect to have to put some money into keeping it up. Even if you buy the 2010, at some point you are going to have to put a ball joint in it. Unless you can afford to buy a new vehicle every few years. In my opinion, if you spend small amounts of money fixing things all the time then you are not hit with sticker shock when you decide to fix everything at once.

Its a GM truck they are built to last for a very long time.. 120,000km or miles is low for a vehicle of that age.
