    Default Rotted power steering line

My 04 Silverado 1500 blew a power steering line this weekend. Pinhole after the cooler on the metal line. Anyone else experiencce this? New cooler is 95 dollars from GM which i didnt think was too bad.

$95 including putting it on? Or did you install it yourself?

My '96 leaked and it was replaced by local shop for $130.00.

Yep, man do I know those last words!! But, really, this one shouldn't be too bad. Let us know how it goes.

Just replaced it, have to say one of the easiest things to replace. removed the grill, two bolts and two compression clamps and the whole thing comes out. Took 15 min all together.

i had mine do the same thing at a ez lube... they had just put in a bottle of flush/cleaner and it started to leak!! XD
so i tied a rag around it, drove to the autopart store, bought and installed a new one with clean fluid for about $50... never paid for that 'power steering flush'

Pretty common maintenance item. Both my trucks have had all the power steering hoses replaced at one time or another.
