    12 mpg???
How do you get 12 mpg with the 7.4??
Very good mpg for that monster-must be in excellent shape
and you must drive like you are still in England paying $8/gallon.
In any case 12 mpg no matter how you drive- means it is a good tight engine-broken in but not worn out!
Yeah-you got a good one- and $200 repair-can't beat that!

Hey are those "real USA gallons" or those bigger Brit gallons?? Our gallons are 3.78 liters I think??

Most of the driving I do is highway stuff , its about a 30 min drive to work, nearly all on highway roads, so the driving speed is consistent. I thought 12mpg was a bit on the low side, but by the sounds of it - I'm doing well. I worked it out on the US 3.75 gallons to the litre. Don't drive it too fast, probably only doing around 60mph.

The speedo needs recalibrating as it doesn't give out the true speed, probably as much as 20kmph out. Tracked it once with a GPS unit. Speedo was showing 130 kmph, but the GPS was reporting 113kmph.

Otherwise, enjoying driving the big beast around town!

12 mpg is pretty good for that monster motor- at any speed
Certainly means it is in good shape.
