    Default New from MS

    Hey guys,
Found this site just out goofing off looking for tires and such.

Live in central MS and drive a ole half worn out 2000 silverado with 280k + miles. 6.0 LQ4 and 4L80E swapped into it out of a 2004 2500HD. Added KB Racing Turbo kit with S475 borg warner turbo :D
It is my Daily driver and runs mid-high 12s @115-117 on the all terrains which is a blast. and on slicks it went a low 12 but have over boosting issues so i let out when i saw 25psi..

Here she is all cleaned up which is extremely rare.

Ive been fooling with these trucks since 2004 and have wasted alot of money on them and have broken some sports cars hearts at the drag strip haha

    Thanks!
yea 60' is horrible too but it makes up for it on top end ha.

have no idea on HP but i do know its faster than it was with my old turbo setup which was a rear mount garrett 60mm on 6psi and 50 shot nitrous.
fastest it went back then on slicks was 12.5@110.
this was a dyno pull a couple months after that pass.

Now it has a small turbo cam and a lot larger turbo front mounted that makes silly top end power. so it blows the 6psi and nitrous out the water so to say.

    Yep 117mph in 1/4 mile- 5000 lbs-waaaaay more than 440 dyno HP
and 440 dyno horses is a LOT of power!!

Funny part is, its still got alot left in it. I screwed up my wastegate install, i tucked it up between the trans and body. I never even thought about the flow it could do in that manner. So with my cutout closed it has enough backpressure to keep the boost at 5psi. Works great for towing and is dead quiet. It ran a 13.9@104 with a 2.2 60'. All i did was unhook from the trailer and get the grill and such out of the bed.

I opened the cutout after a couple passes and my first pass was 12.9@113. With the mentioned wastegate issue, i see 5psi in first gear, 15psi in 2nd gear, and 25psi in 3rd but it was in the -5* timing range which is rediclous (i didnt know about the 25psi deal till my last pass, my MAP sensor only reads to 15psi). So i found a weird spot in the fuel tabe and corrected it. It ran better 12.4@115 and on that pass i looked up and noticed the boost was 10psi more than i wanted haha.. So i hooked back up to the trailer and towed my buddys truck home after he scattered the track with engine parts.. he ran a 11.3@126 in a truck just like mine but a cammed 5.3 and a larger turbo. his last pass his methanol nozzle clogged up and pop goes the weasel. Towed him home (6700# on trailer/truck in tow).

So with a extra wastegate ill be ready to rock.

Ill do a thread in the performance section

Stock -cast pistons- stock cast crank??
    25psi- 1.6 OVER ATMOSPHERE??
Is BIG TIME for a spark motor that isn't a race motor.
The aftermarket turbo kits from 10 years back usually had some sort of programing that RARELY let them get over 10 psi-2/3 atm- despite making HP claims "double hp" that implied 15psi and more.

So you buddy lunched his engine-11.3 126mph- wow!! back in 1980 when the first 1100 Suzuki came out-it was baddest stock bike around- IT WOULD DO 11.3 !!
His 5000 lb truck doing 11.3 with a bolt on kit is really something!!

Yeah if you-he lose the cooling and anti detonation effect of methanol-BOOM!!
In WW2 some Heavily boosted German fighters had methanol and water boost for high boost giving short bursts of acceleration -USA fighters might have had it also.

12.4 AND 115 was what a 750 mc would do 1980(stock) and it seemed FAST!! The 1000's would do high 11's-the 1100 Suzuki 11.3-not sure what the 6 cyl Honda would do-close to the 1100 Suzuki-fast!!

You have a fast truck-and it looks AWFULLY GOOD to be called ole half worn out looking-
hey if it is such a worn out POS you should sell it to me for $3000???280,000 miles-heck I'm probability overpaying!!
    Ha,ha
    Didn't think so
