Default '06 express van hood removal

Does anyone know how the hood can be removed from the hinge plates after the two nuts has been removed?

Once the two bolts are removed that go from the hinge to the hood, you should be able to lift it right off. Two things one is to scribe a line or mark a line around each of the hinge plates that connect to the hood, so that when you put the hood back on it will line up correctly for you.

Two it's a lot easier to do this with a friend. Make sure you keep on hand under the hood where the windshield is so that when you loosen the bolts it doesn't hit the glass and crack it.

    Hope this helps you out,
    Tony

Thank you for your kind reply. Whereas with most hoods there are two bolts securing the hinge plates to the hood, however in this case there are only one stud that comes out of the hood and a nut holding the hinge plate to the hood. There is an arrow right in front of the hinge plates indicating to slide upwards but even after removing the nut, the hood will not budge. It's quite puzzling as most panel removal methods can be found on Google and or Youtube, but there's nothing about 2006 express van hood. Wondering if I should just remove it from the base of the hinge at the base of the cowl since it doesn't have hinge springs and remove it with the hinge assembly still on the hood.???
