Default 2011 Tahoe blower seems blocked somtimes on long trips with AC on.

When I'm on a long trip with the AC on all of a sudden the blower stops working. When this happens the cold air cannot get out of the vents, the vents frost up and obviously the car gets warm inside without the AC blowing. Once I turn the AC and the fan off for about 1/2 hour I will try it again and it works. It's been like this since we bought the Tahoe brand new. The dealer can find nothing wrong with it since there are no computer error codes listed. They tell me when this happens to drive it to the dealer without shutting down the engine. Unfortunately this happens on weekend trips when the dealer is closed. Any help or suggestions is appreciated.
    Thanks,

The blower motor is like any electrical device, when the circuit is opened, the current stops flowing and the device shuts down.

Somewhere, you have a loose connection, it may be at the blower, it may be in the blower, it might be the motor speed controller (mounted on the motor), it might be the dash control unit with the human interface. It could be a fuse, the fuse holder, a poor connection in a connector, or, a broken wire somewhere.

If a GM tech connects a scan tool and can not see anything wrong, they usually don't go much farther. You need to find a good old fashion automotive electrical technician with the patience to find the problem.

Then, or perhaps first, you need to file a complain with GM Customer Service

Thanks for the reply. Since it's under warranty I will try again at the dealer and pass along the suggestions you posted.

    Thanks,
Sounds like the dealer is too lazy to replace the blower motor(probably because they may have to pull quite a bit of the dash out). My recommendation is to take it to another Chevrolet dealer and tell them what is happening.
