    Default Complete Steering Parts kit

Anyone know of a supplier to have a complete steering parts kit for the 1992-1999 2wd 1/2 ton Suburban? I am hoping this route would be less expensive than replacing each part one at a time.

    Good day dfhollums,
I recently rebuilt all the linkages on y 1999 4x4 k1500. I went to RockAuto and bought everything (minus the steringbox) for right at $300. It took me about 3 hours to build and install. Personally, get only Moog parts as they have greese fittings in the CORRECT place, and remote greese fittings for the idler arm bracket. Buy the alignment sleeves too.

    1. Remove existing componants form the truck but keep them intact!!!
    1.a. meaning:
    a. sepirate the connections to the pitman arm and idler arm from the centerlink.
    b. sepirate the tie rods from the hub on both sides
    c. you will be able to slide out with out dissasembly the tie rods still connected to the center link.
    d. This will allow you to build the new parts and keep your allignment "close"
    e. build the outer tie rod, adjusting sleeve, inner tie rod, center link, inner tie rod, adjusting sleeve, and outter
tie rod section as one big unit.
    f. Set the "old section" on the ground and adjust the "new section" to match the settings.
    2. remove the idler arm bracket and replace it along with a new idler arm with the new Moog part that has the
remote greese access (about $24 and makes life a WHOLE lot easier!)
    3. Remove the stearing box and replace the pittman arm! I found a TON of play in the pitman arm!
3a. you will need to "rent" a pitman arm puller from your local parts store and use an impact wrench to get it
    4. replace the pittman arm and reinstall the stearing box.
    5. reinstall the tie rod / center link assembly.

no one sells a %100 parts and bushings kit =(

you need to piece it together yourself from a catalog like "classic industries" or "summit racing"
whatever you do DO NOT buy anything automotive off ebay
    you will die
Gas was $1.83 when Obama took office.....

K5, Thanks for the info and the eBay advice. Yeah, I remember those gas prices, we sure got a "change", huh?

    lol indeed
yeah, ebay is ok for rinky-dink accessories you have no urgent need to install; but be very prepared to maneuver your ebay, pay-pal, credit card, and shipping assets if you buy something your vehicle truly needs
cause you may be in for a struggle if it turns out to be junk

Like everyone said above, no one sells a complete kit. I would keep an eye on autozone, oreillys, and advanced auto parts. They often run 20% off all chassis parts. If you check out each of their face book pages they have coupon links. I bought all Moog parts from advanced with 20% off coupons. I just printed multiple coupons and went to a few different stores.
