Hello everybody. I thought I would join to get a bit of info on the trucks and also buy and sell some exhaust stuff.
I drive a 2005 Chevy Silverado 1500HD converted to run on Hydrogen. We also have some 2006 GMC Sierra's with the same 6.0L drivetrain running on H2. Link to more technical info http://www.etecevs.com/hydrogen_ICE_...conversion.php
I really joined to find out what to do with my pair of sports mufflers (Magnaflow and Flowmaster, both 2-1). Through some hydrogen related misadventures we've got the Magnaflow on the Silverado, and the Flowmaster (complete with axle back tip) just came off a Sierra after less than 500 miles. These have been deemed too loud to be on our professional vehicles. If anyone is interested in trading their stock muffler please contact me (Canada better, BC best, Greater Vancouver amazing).
These mufflers are both freakin loud without catalytic converters. Might be reasonable with catalytic converters, but I couldn't tell you; burning pure hydrogen means practically zero carbon emissions.
I had thought I might get away with putting them in series. A muffler shop had just told me that the only way to quiet down a truck without cats is to use a baffled muffler.

Welcome! The hydrogen conversion sounds very interesting! I would like to try it on my 8.1L/gas motor home. Now that would be a real advance. How does the "mpg" compare to gas? Texas is a little far for shipping mufflers.

to the site and yea any truck without a cat is going to be significantly louder. how much do you pay for the hydrogen and where do you fill it? are there any power differences? how many miles do you go on a full tank? sorry for all the questions im just interested ive never heard them do this on any other vehicles than a little honda or something
