The big boy on the block, the XL, which is normally considered the best towing platform doesnt have the highest weight rating.
3.42 gears with 22"/P285 wheels/tires might be a bit of a dog when towing 7800 to 8500lbs even with the 6.2ltr. Im certain it wont be a roadrunner towing that weight with the 5.3.

Always cool to see the specs of the new year, but honestly, how many of us are going have 60k+ after taxes to drop on a new one? New suburban prices are a rich man's game, that's why as a non-rich man I love the fact that these depreciate so much so folks like most of us can afford a 5-10 year old model with 50-125k at a great price.
I look at the specs of new vettes as well so I know what I will be dealing with in 10 years when I buy one.

OK Steve, three different posts on the same thing is plenty.

The best towing platform was the Suburban 2500.
