    Default alternator amp rateing help

i have a 2004 Silverado z71 4x4 with the 5.3 i wanted to ask how do you tell what alternator belongs with the truck, as far as what amp it is 105/145amp??
i need a new belt for it and belt tensioner soon, the alternator on it now has the wrong grooved pulley for it so i need a new pulley for it as well.

If the alt is original to the truck, this will help: http://www.gmtruckclub.com/forum/sho...ght=Alternator

However, your pulley question is confussing. If the alt is on it now has the wrong pulley, how can it be working, and how did it get the wrong pulley?

i bought the truck used, the speedo cluster was going bad so they thought it was a bad alternator and battery. when it wasnt either one. i noticed it had a 5 groove pulley on it instead of a 6 groove, so i figured they got the wrong alternator??? thank you for the link.
