How big is a 8-lug rim? I'm guessing the rim is a 16 inch, but I haven't been able to confirm this. If it is a 16 inch rim, can I get suggestions on a good tire that would be used on-road most of the time with some off-road in loose dirt or mud. I realized that if I switch to 8-lug, my previous tire choice will be unavailable since it's for a 15 inch rim.... Any wisdom is greatly appreciated as always...

mine is a 99 old body style with 8 lug and it is a 16 inch rim. I like my general grabber at2's but no one else seems to.

1. Michelin LTX AT2s
2. BFG TA KOs
3. Nitto Terra Grapplers
4. Pirelli ATRs
5. Yokohama Geolander ATs
6. Dominator Radial ATs
and no i wouldnt recommend the general grabber at2s either lol but to each there own
ack, forgot to mention, I'm looking for a 33 inch tire....which limits my selection greatly

Up until the NBS they were all 16 inch, but there are some 17s available now I think. Either way go with the BF goodrich AT

If you have 16's I suggest Bridgestone Dueler AT Revos a 285/75 would give you the size you want, if you get 17's the the BFG KO's

there are many AT tires to choose from like the Nitto Terra grappler, BFG AT, Cooper ST or STT, Toyo open country AT or the dueler AT Revo. the BFG are the most aggressive looking and the Nitto is still a very very good tire and will get you through what you need too as will the BFG. the dueler and toyo are still great tires too but i dont think as well as some of the others. the cooper is another agressive looking AT and will be great in anything. the STT is a mud tire but rides like a n AT and is surprisingly quiet on the road and gives amazing traction off. and go with a 305/70R16 (33/12 and may need a little fender trimming but should be ok) or a 285/75R16 (33/11.5 will fit fine no cutting needed)
