04" SUBURBAN Transmission Issues
i have a 04, suburban 2500 4wd 8.1ltr with 145k on it. After 50+ miles of hard driving (75mph) the transmission starts to shift hard. stop the truck, turn off the engine for 5 minutes, start it back up and the problem goes away. It will then shift normal. Drive it around town all day, not problem. any ideas? I had the transmission flushed and new fluid put in. They did not give me a new filter.

I would change the filter. Sure, they put clean fluid in. But, a flush did not clean the magnet in the pan or get any chunks pf crap off the bottom of the pan ans your filter could be partially plugged. Maybe your filter is being plugged by stuff that gets stirred up when you are driving. You stop and everything settles ans it drives fine.
