Apparently Autozone has a magnetic drain plug for the Silverados.

I have the part number for the OEM drain plug for the Silverado and Sierra. This plug appears to be used on MANY GM vehicles.

I just called the local Chevrolet dealer parts department and asked for the part number for a GM oil drain plug for a 2013 Silverado. I will probably never need one, but having a spare (I bought 2 OEM plugs off ebay for $5 shipped) can't hurt. A part will usually break just AFTER the parts department is closed.

    Update:

The drain plug gasket also has a part number. You can replace the rubber o-ring gasket if the drain plug is still good.

    GM part numbers:

    Drain plug: 11562588
    Drain plug gasket: 12616850
