Default Which Type of leveling kit?

Hello All, I am new to this SIlverado thing, I've always been a jeep guy, but I finally crossed over to this side, I recently purchased a 08 silverado 1500 4x4 and i ahve the 20in factory wheels and tires. I was looking at leveling kits and I saw about three different kinds. The torsion key lifts seem to be the popular, but i noticed the type that bolt ontop of your coil over shock system giving you approx 2 to 2.5 in in the front, they seem to be the easiest to install, and they claim it changes the right little if any at all. I was wondering if anyne had tried these and if they're are any catches to this seemingly fairytale level kit. I am only looking to lift three inches or less and maintain factory ride quality, also, anyne know as good tire to go with after i lift, i figure the stock tires will look small. Thanks in advance!

    Exclamation

Yes, I installed them recently on my 08 Sierra, I had the 17" factory wheels and changed them to after market 20" and had the Goodyear tiers (as what comes on the Yukon) on them which is 20",285/50 , yours should be 275/50 I guess, so mine started to hit the wheel liners inside when I turn, I installed the full front and rear lift/levelling kit : Auto Spring Kits is a 2-1/2 inch COMPLETE front and rear lift/levelling kit.

It took around 3 hours of installation, and I didn't feel much of difference in riding, they seems grate and cost around $180.

I installed the front first, and the truck looked dumb, when you hit the gas the rear goes down big time, so I installed the rear levelling kit and it looks like my 2005 2500HD which I had.

I was afraid that the tires would look small, but I feel they look suitable and nice if your truck theme is soft, if you want it aggressive, go for high profile tires.

i would go with the spacers as well. as for tires what kind of thing are u lookin for?? for the low profile tires that go on a 20 inch rim i would suggest looking at the nitto terra grappler. they are a nice looking all terrain that is pretty aggressive but not too aggressive. they are a great all around tire

I had the Off Road Unlimited leveling kit installed and WOW what a difference in the ride it made it a lot more smoother and clean. leveled it right our and can put 35's on now. the tortion keys and shocks are amazing quality the shocks that come with the kit are longer than stock to take up the extra room and ride height and travel, no need for special spacers or anything. the shocks are specially made for ORU by Edelbrock. I have had these about a year or so and not one problem with them I highly highly recommend them here is the link
