Question XM to Sirius Satellite switch on a 08 Silverado

Hey guys, just bought my first Chevy. I WAS a long time Jeep 4-wheeler. Now i own a 2008 Chevy Silverado 1500 Crew Cab 1LT. First on the order of mods is to switch from XM to Sirius Satelite. Has anyone made this switch yet? I have researched on the web and what it seems i need is a GML-SC1 Sirius Connect & a SC-C1 universal tuner. Where can i buy the GML-SC1 from? Is it not released yet?

xm was supposedly bought by siris. ive been waiting for them to do this so its just playing the waiting game for if and when they are going to put all the channels on our xm radios. so before u spend the money id wait it out because if they convert it over u will not need to get a new radio.

Seems like to me that Sirius is the way to go. I don't use any HD radio because CD's are better for me. If you can afford HD radio then I think Sirius is a safe bet over XM IMHO.

Yeah. I added Sirius to my TB, but i took out everything stock and added my own system. (i need to get a pic of it on here). I got Sirius becuase NASCAR moved over to them, however, when i talked to Sirius, they told me that they were merging. so maybe call them and ask if they know a time frame. Maybe you can last a while with xm, rather than spend the money.

    Default thanks guys

thanks guys for the input. I've since decided that i want a in dash navigation. Since the silverado has a double din radio i can get a real bad ass one. The way i see it, it's between the Kenwood DNX8120 and the Pioneer AVICZ2X. Does anyone have either head unit? So you guys know about the Sirius & XM merger. It's pretty much going no where. We've been waiting for a year and a half for a announcement. To sum it up most of congress is on the take by free radio so their dragging their feet. This whole process is quickly becoming as big a joke as our president.
