Default Am I an LLY or LBY?

Can someone tell me where to look to find whether my 2004 duramax is LLY or LBY? I used to keep the original sticker from the window in my glove compartment but it doesn't seem to be there now. I also thumbed through the owners manual. Is there someplace on the body of the truck I can look?

    Thanks.

I''m not sure on yoiurs, but look and see if there is a list of numbers on the glove box door. It is usually printed there. Good luck!

There are 4 generations of Duramax's to date. LB7, LLY, LBZ, LMM. The LLY came out in 2004 so I'm pretty sure that's what you have but usually the 8th didgit in your VIN code will determine which duramax you have. Here is a LINK that will give you more details on the different versions.

8th Vin #2-04.5-05 LLY 310hp autos only, 300 hp manual trans and 4500/5500
8th Vin #3-06 LLY ratings are the same as vin 2
