When doing a tune up, what should the sparkplug gap be?
I think it differs depending on what motor/year/etc. Look under the hood, if the emissions sticker is still there, it should say what the gap is (I think).
Spark plug gap is application specific; however, if you're in this forum, there's a good chance that 0.035-inch is the gap for you.
Searching for more MPG, I changed to a hotter ignition and AC's Rapidfire Platinum plugs. They're pre-gaped at .045 (a longer spark) instead of the OE recommendation of .035-inch. Actually, I can't remember the last time I bought new plugs that weren't correctly gapped. Plug makers might even provide special packaging to protect the gap. Be advised, some plugs are plated and a ham-handed re-gapping can mess them up. These days, with unleaded gas, spark plugs have a phenomenal service life. By the time they need re-gapping you've probably already got your money's worth.
Are we having fun, yet?

I bought a haynes manual for my last truck and it was listed incase you can't find it.
