HELP I have a 2003 silverado and the heated seat on the drivers side comes on all by itself. I turn it off and it comes back on. Sometimes it just goes on and off all by itself. I looked at the switch in the door and the wires are soldered into the switch. Is there a relay or something I can Change ??
Anyone ? Anyone? Dont post all at once !!!

I had probs once with my heaters not working at all and then would not stay on longer than 15 seconds. The dealer replaced some melted wires and elements and now works great so i would recommend taking it to the dealer.

It comes on when going down the road? I've seen/read about problems with these, but typically the #1 problem is that the wires/leads get worn down with use/sitting and they stop working, not come on by themselves. I agree, I'd look under the seat itself first.

UPDATE : Well the Drivers side seated hasn't acted up in almost a week. I dont Know. Thanks for your suggestions. I will keep you updated if it happens again.
I'm having the same problem with my 05 silverado, it only happens once and a while though, the other morning I went out to my truck and the battery was dead, I almost suspect the heated seat turned on by itself in the middle of the night and killed the battery, there wasn't even enough power for the guages to come up.

I thought the engine would have to be running in order for the seats to come on but something definately killed my battery, I was figuring that would have the kind of draw required to. Had a dead battery a couple of times last winter, ended up turning off the courtesy lights and anything that I could that would be on for any time when I turned off the truck and replaced the battery, and all has been good as far as the battery dying, but I am having problems with the heated seats, had some last winter too, kind of figured thats what could have killed my battery but still would like to get the seat fixed.
