Default Max Tire Size on stock 99 z71?

As far as I know I have 32" tires on my stock 16s but I want new rims and want to know if I can do 18x9 inch rims with 33" inch tires? like 285/70/18. 3" body lift and 4" Suspension lift are in the near future but my tires are kinda bald right now so figured Id see if rims were worth it

If it's not lifted, 265s the 285s are just a bit big and will affect the ride. I had smaller on my from the PO, removed them and put the 265s on, that's original size for my truck, made such a difference in the handling and drivability.... Not bad but made a big difference

I ran 285/75/16s on my 03 Z71 with no rubbing before I leveled it. Now I'm thinking 285/75 on 17s or 305/70/16 if I can find the offset

    I'm running 265/75/16 right now.

I was also thinking 17s instead of 18s to reduce crazy wheel rub

Got Ya.....the Reason I asked about the 265/75/18's......next to the rubbing issues, is by Installing Tires that have a Larger Overall Diameter, than the Stock Size Tires, you should have the Trucks Computer Re-Programmed for this Change in Tire Size.

Yea, I'd have to do that. Think I'd have to regear? That would have me going from 31.5s to like 33.25s. But I also decided I might as well add a leveling kit for the few extra hundred to make everything run smoother.

I thought I'd mention the Re-Programming, just in case you were not aware of it.........and Regarding "Think I'd have to regear?" The Gears Ratio and Tire Size Chart below can help, as it shows how Fuel Mileage and Performance is effected with the different Gear Ratios/Tire Setups.
