Wow. I'm shocked to see that there isn't ANY for the 2008 Silverado's. Here's a K&N one for your truck (assuming it's a 1500) but not CARB approved:

    2006 Chevy Silverado 1500 2WD EXT Cab
    4.3L V6 Vortec, K&N Drop-In, Flowmaster Super 44,
3" Exhaust tip, 22" Boss #331 Rims, Clifford 50.5x Alarm,
Escalade Gauges, DJM Leveling Kit, Billet grill, All JL Audio Speakers,
300XD MTX amp, Two 10" Alpine SWE-1042 subs

The process of getting approval by CARB takes time. If there has been any engine/trans changes in a new model year, they have to go through the process all over again. Chances are that if the unit is approved for the previous years, it is only a matter of time before it is approved for the current year. many times the next year model has to be released before the approval process is through.

    Greetings and salutations, pmpddyd1!
As mentioned, it takes time for CARB approval. Of course, after approval, then it's going to take some more time to get to the retailers and into the mags and web pages. Have you contacted K&N directly?
    Are we having fun, yet?

hey, thanks for all the info.
in case anyone else is wondering the same thing, i called around and Airaid said that their intake is CARB approved already and S&B said that they expect to be approved and will ship the exemption sticker to anyone who buys an intake once the approval comes in.
now all i have to do is decide which direction to go.

Living in California, we're lucky to have any choices about anything that's not OE. I'm surprised there's not CARB approved windshield washer fluid.
