    Default a/c issue....

ok 91 silverado 6cyl, 5 spd...all stock....here's what happened....I run my a/c all the time....my controls are buttons and the little digital pics and suck, you hold the blue down, the light goes to blue, u hold the red it goes the other way.....

anyways, i turned it on this after noon, went about 100 yards and "pop" no lights on my a/c module, all the leds are gone, and nothing works...my radio still works, the lights all work on the dash and what not, but no lights on the a/c heater module..........so I went looking for fuses all seem well and fine, so any suggestions??? I need my a/c, hahahaha it's gonna be 100 this weekend........

You've probably already thought of this, but I'd look for a "fuse" that was labeled AC. Good luck!

sounds like the module has died. if all the fuses are good and the connection on the module is good you might hit a junk yard and grab another unit and see if it work....mike

    Default so the good news....

well, being that this poor truck is a million years oldl............ 91, I found out where and what the problem is, now to figure out how to fix it.....

there is a plug behiind the glove box, i'm assuming it goes between the a/c heater module harness and my compressor, I can't tell what kind because it's all corroded, but when I 'jiggle' it, my compressor turns on or 'clicks'??? (this is with no key in the ignition) i'm assuming it's the a/c compressor that is clicking......anyways, I turned the truck on and wooooooooo hoooooooooooo my ac module is lit up!! I turned on the a/c and all's fine and dandy!!! Nice cold air, i'm stoked.

Now the question, this plug or connection has 3 wires, it seems it's female and you can plug into both ends 1 from the harness and 1 from the 'compressor'......is there a circuit board on it? can I just cut out this connection and splice the wires together??? I can't tell if it's fused..........so anyone with any ideas let me know.........thanks.........i'd go to the stealership but i'm sure with my limited knowledge they are gonna laugh me right out of the parts dept....

    thanks in advance!
