Hey yall. I just got back from Iraq and I have a few bucks to spend. I just bought a 06 Silverado 4x4 with the 4.8L. I want to get 33 inch buckshots or Mickey T's on it. Can i get away with just putting a leveling kit on it? If i can do it, will the tires rub, and will it look like the tires are cramed into the truck. I dont want that. Should i just get a suspension lift?
Now as far as the power goes, 285 HP isnt enough. What can I do at a reasonable cost to get some more horses out of her. Intake? Electronics? Please help. Thanks
if its a 4x4 33's will fit just fine with a leveling kit, if you want to start out simple a programmer or maybe a cold air intake would be among the easiest upgrades

2006 gmc sierra, 4.8l, gibson headers, flowmasters exhaust, hypertech power programmer,4.10 gears, 3 inch rough country suspension lift w/ 285/70/17 cooper disoverer stt's, tinted windows, westin grill gaurd, herculiner bedliner, black fender flares, HID headlights, black painted front bumper
but will it look like the 33s are cramed into the truck? i want it to look like it has some symblance of clearance.
and as far as the power goes, i made friends with all the mechanics will we were deployed, so im gonna give them a 1500 dollar budget and tell them to go nuts. they are talkin about putting in a cold air intake, programmer, and ceramic headders. what do you think
I just noticed your from New Orleans. Im born and raised in Lafayette. I have family in NOLA.

for 1500 bucks you can do a lot power wise. intake, exhaust, programmer, headers, and maybe some ignition components will give you a nice boost in power. as for the lift how much are you willing to spend? and the 33's will look perfect with a leveling kit on your truck. however, if your looking for an aggressive tire i would say dont go with the mickeys, there are a lot better tires out there. the buckshots are ok also, but i would say go with a cooper discoverer STT. they are great tires and many people here have bought them and loved them. it also what im gonna be putting on my jeep very soon. here is a link to a site with lifts for your truck.

After i did about the same to my Tahoe, lift, tires etc. I was upset with the performance aspect. Do yourself a favor, see about getting a programmer of some sort. Your speedometer will be way off with the different sized tires, I found a Hypertech on Ebay for about $175 and it just plugs into your truck computer and it adjusts your speedo and gives you better performance.

Hey I also purchased the 6" RC lift..and the 3" RC body lift and im having them installed this coming week w/ 35" BF Goodrich Mud Terrains on a 16" Chrome ProComp wheel...im still in iraq but if get all of this installed before yours is ill be sure to post up some pics for ya so you can guestimate what its gonna look like..
aslo i would def. do a programmer! Hypertech, Bullydogg,superchip..there all good def. throw cat back exhaust on to let it breath a little better! Mass air flow sensors will help too.
