I was wondering how much of a pain it is to install a new head unit and front door speaks in a 2001 suburban. The existing is a non bose system. It does have the sub woofer in the rear. Currently my right side door speaker quit working and all knobs on stock radio have broken off. I dont know if its the speaker or the stock radio. The little high speaker is working on the right door, but now the 6" speaker. I was thinking of just finding another stock head unit to install. If I do this, is it just a matter of plugging the new one in. I dont really want to spend a lot of money. Im not sure how much longer I will have this truck, but the speaker not working is driving me crazy. Any advice will help.
Thanks,

both of your speakers are under one grill cover correct, if so that whole panel should pop off but i would check all wires before just up and buying any head unit and a factory head unit will be just as much as an aftermarket if not more

replacing a headunit is simple with the correct tools and wire harness, replacing the door speakers would also be very easy because they are mounted in clip-in brackets and the speaker wires are easy connect harnesses
