On my 04 Silverado I have to replace the battery in my key fob every 2 weeks. Its still showing 2.5 volts but doesn't work. Locks and unlocks fine after new battery.
Mine did the same thing. I just quit buying the batteries, and bought a new fob on Ebay. Around $30. Extremely easy to program.
Just a thought.

Sounds exactly like my FOB. With mine I can even take the "old" battery out, clean contacts, and reinstall the "old" battery and the FOB will work for a few more days. I think that's one way the FOB's show they are dying. I just use the key to unlock the doors now. This is the first vehicle I've owned with the remote locks, so I don't miss it that much.
