Thread: Help! No lights

    Default Help! No lights

I have a 96 Suburban 2500. When I turn the lights on I think the fuse blows because I have no Marker lights, Tail lights or Dash lights. Does anyone have any ideas what is happening?

Have you already replaced a blown fuse and the new one also blows... or what?
    Are we having fun, yet?

The fuse isn't going to blow for no reason, some where there's a short. It could be at one of the lights, or in the switch.
Do you have a meter to test for a ground fault? Have you looked at a schematic to get a general idea how the lighting circuit is laid out?
One simple test would be to put in a new fuse, and then turn on just the running lights (no headlights). If that doesn't blow the fuse than the problem is with the headlights or the switch and you can eliminate all of the other lights as a source of the problem. That will make tracing the short a lot easier.
Have you done any recent mods involving any components of the lighting circuit?
