New here. I have a 2001 Suburban with 95k miles on a 5.3 engine. I'm thinking its time for a plug change though the engine still idles smooth and gets the same gas mileage as it has for a long time. Maybe a waste of time changing plugs before trouble?
Anyways, I've had good luck with NGK in the past so thought I'd try NGK again. I hit a few sites on the web and found NGK TR5 or TR55 recommended. I know the TR55 is one step cooler than TR5. The NGK site recommends TR5. Any ideas which one would be best for gas mileage?
I searched other posts here and found the info about gap changing from 0.60 to 0.40".
Also, how about a torque spec? 14ft-lbs about right?
Thanks in advance.
