Default How do I replace a headlight bulb

    Hi All,

Just found this group and thought I would post a quick question. I have a 1996 Silverado, ext. cab, long bed, 350, 4WD, but only one headlight! I cannot for the life of me figure out how to replace the bulb. I was able to slap the front of the light to make it come on for my vehicle inspection but that won't last forever. Can anyone help me out!

    Thanks

I know for my '01 and '03 there is a silver color pin that looks like an allen wrench, open the hood and there will be one right above the headlight assembly on each side; just pull up on the pin and head light should come out.

Grab yourself a phillips head screwdriver and go to the front of your truck. There are four screws that hold the light housing in place - at the four corners of the lights.

Remove the four screws and the light housing will just come out.

Once you have the housing out just twist the bulb holder counter-clockwise by about 1/4 turn. Pull it out of the housing and replace the bulb.

Reverse the steps to get the housing back on.
