01' silverado blower motor?

Hi, New here

I searched and couldn't find any info on this. My recently aquired 2001 silverado (5.3L, 2wd, short bed ext cab) has an issues with the a/c and heat or lack ther of. It blows cold or hot but with no pressure. I got the truck from my dad to use as a work truck since it's been sitting infront of his house now for 2 yrs and just used for trips to the dump or hardware store. I knew it was broken and can't remember what they said was wrong with it when he brought it in to be fixed last time.

I'm guessing blower motor since I had the same issues with a cavalier and explorer before. How much of a hasstle is it to do yourself and what am I looking at for cost? I'll only be driving this a couple days a week but in va beach you need ac

I had the almost same issue with my '01 Silverado, the fan would only work on MED and HIGH, dealer said it might be blower moter or controller. Never found out, shortly after that it got totaled.

Had a similar issue with my '02 silverado. Only worked on 4 or 5. Was a resisitor in the dash?!?! Took mechanic at the dealer about 15 minutes to fix. Check it out.

The cabin filter was toast on mine. I changed it and now I have good flow.

if its the motor, remove the cover( the rear screw is a PITA, then u push a little tab down that is conected the the motor and turn the motor about 1/4 to 1/2 turn and it will come out.

Wesome to the site! If it blows the same speed on all settings, it's probable the blower motor resister which is under the dash and easy to replace.
