Hi experts,
I just bought used 2004 Tahoe; the radio in FM mode doesn’t set to frequencies such as 101.0 MHz. it will set to 100.9 or 101.1. And in the AM it will step 10 by 10 for example 540 550 560,
Is there any solution or set up to have FM 101.0 102.0 MHz??
Thx

Truck has USA Specs will have only 1019 MHz, but here in the middle east we have the exact same radios can set to 1020 MHz I WANT TO HAVE THAT IN MY SUV :(
There's nothing wrong with your radio, it's not set to the proper country code. Is it a recent import? By using an OBD-II scan tool, the radio set up procedure can configure the country code. Then, your radio will display the correct frequencies.
The Chilton's service manual and Chevy Owners Manual don't contain the codes by country. But, your area GM service facilities should be familiar with the radio set up procedure. Alternately, if you have a friend with a working GM radio, you can use a scan tool to see the correct country code for your location.
Are we having fun, yet?

Great!
I understood that if I bring a local spec radio (from a local truck) the problem will not be solved because the PCM will keep sending USA country code<< need your answer about that thought.

1- One of my friends uses EFI Live tuner playing with the 3rd and 4th GEN engines. Can he do that for me using his Tuner & Scan tool?
2- I don't want to go to the dealer to get my country code, is there any other way to find that code?

THANK YOU
Quite possibly, but I'm making a lot of assumptions about your radio. You won't know until you try.1- One of my friends uses EFI Live tuner playing with the 3rd and 4th GEN engines. Can he do that for me using his Tuner & Scan tool?
Yes, assuming your friend's scanner works and his radio works in the area and it's similar to yours. As I said earlier, have your friend look at the country code on his radio. The first entry in the radio set up menu should be the country code -- write down the code. There may be more than one radio ID's listed, there were several available in 2004. If so, since we don't know which ID is your radio, write down the radio ID and the country code for each radio ID listed.2- I don't want to go to the dealer to get my country code, is there any other way to find that code?
Then attach the scanner to your truck and put the codes into your radio. (Match code to radio ID, code by code, if applicable.) If your radio has the security light on, then re-code it by launching the Learn VIN routine which is the last item of the radio set up sequence. As I said earlier, this all assumes your radio's country codes are programmable and compatible with your local broadcasts.
If this doesn't work, you can try entering random country codes. It could take some time. Just write down the starting codes before your begin and keep track of what you're doing.
Good luck and please let us know if this works for you, we're trying something new.
