Most stereo's or nav systems that you buy for your specific vehicle will come with the correct wire harness. You will have to butt connect the wires off of the new radio to the wire harness for your specific application and then plug it into your existing harness. The stereo or nav system that you buy will have an option to buy a relay or another box that will make your steering wheel controls work with the new radio. A friend of mine just bought one for his mazda 3. It's a touch/nav/dvd/hd tuner/with a free back up camera. It's a Kenwood DNX 8120 and you can find it on crutchfield.com. runs about 1500. The hd tuner and steering wheel controls is an option that you can buy or not.

My buddy just got his and is putting it in tomorrow. I like the radio but I'm usually just driving 31 miles one way to work. I wouldn't want to watch only 30 min of a movie. I'd call in sick from the parking lot and finish the movie first. HEHE. Most of the time, I'm riding my bike to work as long as it's not raining on the way into work.

Just gotta say i HATE using butt connectors. They always end up coming loose or getting corroded, especially if you live near the shore. I recommend spending the extra 30 mins and soldering/heatshrinking all the connections, or if you dont feel like spending the money on heatshrink you can get a can of liquid tape for like 3 bucks at walmart.
