    Default 07 Silverado Question.......

I have a 2007 Silverado with the 4.8 Liter. I have 35 inch mud terrain tires set on 20 inch rims. Its now to sluggish off the line and i want to re-gear my rear end to make it feel as close to stock power as possable or better off the line, torque wise !! Anyone have any idea of what gear ratio i should use ?? I do still want to be able to get the truck to a least 80 mph though !

    Thanks guys !

I would recommend 4:56's. Here is a way to calculate a close-to-stock ratio for your bigger tires

I also found a calculator online that helps you determine as well.

Yeah with 35's 4.56 is probably the best gear ratio unless you plan to go bigger :brows:

Ok, you guys recommend the 4.56 but hte calculators come up with a 3.94. For closest to stock wouldn't he want 4.11's? The 4.56's would give better hook up / torque but would have less MPG than the 4.11's in case he spends more time on the road than off.

The only Reason I ask is I'm facing a similar dilema choosing between 4.11's & 4.56's. I use my truck for hunting, 4-wheeling, and also as my daily driver. Will the 4.56's be too much for the stock axles?
